GLE Presents: Kaleb Austin

The thing about life is second chances exist, and Kaleb Austin couldn’t be more grateful to be experiencing his. Having previously struggled to make ends meet while trying to pursue a career in country music as an independent artist, the gifted singer-songwriter, who has toured with the likes of Dan + Shay, Jo Dee Messina, Billy Currington, Brantley Gilbert and many others, was forced to set aside his dreams to provide for his family.

Thinking that he’d never perform again, Austin set out to make a career change, but God had other plans.

Now Austin is thankful to have the opportunity for another shot at music. And, this time, he has his foot on the gas and momentum like a freight train. He brings that same sense of gratitude and high-powered energy to his upcoming six-track project, which showcases a sound that merges the ‘90s and early 2000s appeal with a modern rock edge. This refreshing combination, paired with a commanding stage presence, makes Austin a strong contender for headlining major concerts and large arenas.

His latest solo-penned release, “Turn the Night On,” showcases his distinctive twang vocals over heavy electric guitar rhythms and driving percussion. Lyrically, the offering plays out as a thank you letter to his fans, affectionately known as his "KAmpfire" family.

In 2014, Austin packed his bags for Nashville. But after nearly a year of grinding it out, it didn’t stick. A father of two at the time, he headed back to Utah due to family reasons. Although he checks off all of the boxes enough to “make it” in Music City, Austin faced various challenges and circumstances that forced him to put music on the back burner.

It wasn’t until Cheyenne Jones stepped in that Austin’s fate changed. Cheyenne, who Austin married on June 25, 2016, heard about TikTok, a popular video-streaming platform that has become a launching pad for many country artists. She immediately saw an opportunity and began posting short clips on Tik Tik and Instagram of her husband singing around the house. After capturing moments of the married couple’s daily lives and the authenticity that comes through in Austin’s music, those videos started resonating with people all over. In a matter of 18 months, the husband-and-wife team grew a loyal following of over 1.5 million and counting.

First to go viral was “Sound of the South,” a highly relatable track, which arrived on January 19, 2021. Following its online success, a demo was recorded, and the backwoods barn burner debuted at Number One on iTunes’ Country chart, becoming the third most downloaded song in all of country music the week of its release.

Next to catch a buzz was the rock-forward track “Sun Goes Down. ” The tune gained similar traction to the previous release, debuting at Number One on both the Country and All Genre iTunes’ charts, respectively.
